Hush, Hush

Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick

Short story: First part sucks, second part is intriguing.

This is a story about a girl named Nora who's your normal girl with good grades and a trouble making best friend. The teacher switches seats, and Nora sits next to a mysterious guy who constantly teases her: Patch.

The first half of the story is miserable. It is a slow introduction, with developing romance and mysterious characters. Every page feels the same. However, the second half of the book is far better: you actually learn about Patch's background, and foreshadowing comes into play with several of the characters. The knots are well tied towards the resolution of the novel.

Overall, I liked the background of the book: a romance theme with a fallen angel/Nephil history interwoven. But the story's length and development of romance are both rather slow. It is not what suits me best with books, as I prefer fast paced books, but Hush, Hush might offer you a little variety if every book you've read is the same.

But there is a sequel (Crescendo) , so visit back for another review in a couple of weeks!
